Methodology

How We Compare

  • Specs come from the source. Every number links to the manufacturer's own specifications, manuals, or a certified child-passenger-safety organization.
  • Safety claims are conservative. Car seat guidance follows American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendations. When manufacturers differ, we say so explicitly.
  • One clear recommendation per comparison, tied to specific family situations — not vague praise for everything.
  • Prices change constantly. We cite list prices where verified and always link current retailer pricing so you see live numbers.

Scoring

How we reach verdicts

Every verdict on this site is deterministic: both models score on the same published specifications, fixed weights per category, higher total wins - never a subjective preference. UNKNOWN specifications score zero for both rather than guessed. See How We Compare.
