- Use the right product for the moment. Swings and bouncers are for awake, supervised time — they are not sleep surfaces. The AAP and CPSC both warn against letting babies sleep in them; if baby falls asleep, move them to a firm flat surface.
- Check recalls before buying second-hand. Every product on this site carries a dated CPSC database check; the MamaRoo v1.0–4.0 3-point harness recall (Aug 2022) applied to earlier models only — confirm the version before accepting a used swing.
- Respect the limits. Weight and developmental exit criteria (rolling over, pushing up) are in each record — stop using at either.
