What makes a good travel system
- Judge the system by its weakest half. A great stroller bolted to a mediocre infant seat is still a mediocre system — check both FMVSS-compliant seat limits and the stroller's weight/mode range before buying the bundle.
- Click-in mechanics matter daily. Adapter-free direct attachment (like MESA-to-Vista) removes a failure point and a fumble at every car-to-stroller transfer; integrated receiver systems trade some of that for lower price.
- Price the exit, not just the entry. Bundles save money up front, but premium ecosystems often recoup value at resale — price both paths over the full stroller years.
- Verify the generation. Manufacturers revise both halves of these systems (Vista is on V3, MESA on V3); compatibility claims can differ between generations.
