The catch is modularity math — newborns need the Newborn Pack or bassinet bought separately, and complete strollers aren't sold on Amazon at all (the verified listing there is the frame at $188.30 plus color packs from $79.99). The Nuna TRVL lx flips that: near-flat recline with a calf support that converts the seat into a carriage position from day one at no extra cost, PIPA infant seats clicking straight onto the frame without adapters, a taller 45.5-inch push, one-hand standing fold, and an included carry bag — but its 14.25 × 21 × 27-inch fold misses common carry-on sizers, so plan to gate-check. With the YOYO3 now also on market, YOYO2 stock is worth watching for discounts.

Where the YOYO2 wins: the bin test
No other stroller in this class folds as flat-and-small as the YOYO2's 20 × 17 × 7-inch package — it slides into overhead sizers where the TRVL lx's deep 27-inch-tall fold gets gate-checked. At 13.6 lb it's also the lighter lift, and its 48.5 lb rating covers nearly as many toddler years. The modular system means you can start with just a frame and grow into configurations, and the successor YOYO3's arrival keeps dealer networks and accessories robust. But budget honestly: Newborn Pack, color pack, and complete-stroller pricing through specialty retailers add up well past the sticker of any single-number comparison.
Where the TRVL lx wins: everything except the plane
For ground life the TRVL lx simply does more on day one. The near-flat recline with flip-up calf support creates a proper carriage for newborns with zero additional purchases; a PIPA infant seat clicks straight on without adapters; the 45.5-inch handle suits taller parents; and the one-hand fold stands upright with a carry bag included. Nordstrom's anniversary sale pricing ($400 when active in August 2026) undercuts what a comparably configured YOYO2 would realistically cost. Its single structural weakness is the fold: too deep for most carry-on sizers, so frequent flyers should think twice.

Buy the Babyzen YOYO2 if you're a genuine frequent flyer. Nothing else folds this small or lifts this light, and the accessory ecosystem is unmatched — just buy through authorized specialty retailers for the complete unit and treat the Amazon frame listing as exactly that: a frame.
Buy the Nuna TRVL lx if this is your everyday stroller that occasionally flies. Newborn-ready out of the box, adapter-free PIPA clicks, taller push, standing fold, included bag — and sale-season pricing makes it the better value for non-flyer-heavy families.
