UPPAbaby Vista V2 review
The stroller that made "buy the system once" mainstream — reviewed as the machine millions of families actually own, with the V3 succession explained.

Quick verdict
The Vista V2 is still one of the best grow-with-your-family strollers ever sold — a true bassinet in the box, a 50 lb toddler seat, and a genuine double path via RumbleSeat and PiggyBack board. It is heavy (27 lb frame + seat), wide when folded, and expensive. UPPAbaby no longer sells it new: the current model is the Vista V3 ($999.99 at Amazon US, verified Aug 2026), which carries the same core architecture forward. Buy a V2 if you find a fair new-old-stock or secondhand deal and the bassinet-plus-expansion plan fits your family; buy the V3 if you want the current generation with warranty and the updated canopy and suspension.

What we like
- A real newborn solution in the box. The included bassinet gives a flat lie from day one — the position pediatric guidance favors for young infants — and doubles as a safe overnight sleep space per UPPAbaby's marketing.
- The long game is built in. RumbleSeat conversion and PiggyBack board turn one stroller into a two- (even three-) kid machine, which is cheaper than retrofitting a second stroller later.
- 50 lb seat ceiling. Roughly another year of strolling for a tall preschooler versus 45 lb competitors like the City Select 2.
- Daily-life fold. One-step, stands on its own — genuinely useful in garages, hallways, and trunk packing.
- Ecosystem depth. Adapter-free MESA pairing plus the best-documented car-seat adapter chart in the category.
Where it falls short
- Heavy and wide. 27 lb with the seat on, and a 25.7″-wide chassis that argues with small trunks. City parents lifting it upstairs daily will feel every pound.
- Discontinued new. No manufacturer warranty path for fresh V2 purchases; stock is drying up and secondhand units dominate.
- Expansion costs extra now. The RumbleSeat that unlocks the double mode is sold separately — budget it in from day one.
- Premium price. Even used, V2s hold value; the V3 asks $999.99. This is a buy-once purchase, not a bargain.
Who it fits
- Families with (or planning) a second child during stroller years — the expansion architecture is the entire point.
- Newborn-first parents who want a flat, included sleep surface instead of buying a bassinet accessory separately.
- Suburban and SUV households with trunk space to spend; the weight penalty buys ride quality and capacity.
- Secondhand hunters: a well-kept V2 at a fair price remains excellent value — check the unit against the CPSC recall database and register it after purchase.
Look elsewhere if: you're strictly one child with a small car — the lighter, narrower CRUZ does that job for less — or you need an overhead-bin travel stroller, which the Vista will never be.
